Dr Dower

Dr Dower is an Australian-trained neurosurgeon with international fellowship experience in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery from the University of Miami Hospital, USA. His clinical practice spans both cranial and spinal neurosurgery, treating conditions such as brain and spine tumours, degenerative spine disorders, traumatic injuries, and nerve compression syndromes.

With a special interest in advanced spinal techniques—including endoscopic surgery, robotics, and complex reconstructive procedures—Dr Dower is dedicated to combining evidence-based medicine with innovative surgical approaches to maximise patient safety, enhance recovery, and improve long-term outcomes.

Dr Dower holds a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours Class I) and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of New South Wales. He completed his neurosurgical training at leading institutions across Australia and New Zealand, including Liverpool, Nepean, St George and Westmead Hospitals in Sydney, and Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, NZ.

In 2017, he was awarded a Master of Surgery (Neurosurgery) from the University of Sydney and was granted Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2024.

Dr Dower undertook a 12-month advanced spinal fellowship at the University of Miami, mentored by internationally renowned spine surgeon Dr Michael Wang. He continues to incorporate cutting-edge techniques from this fellowship into his Australian practice, maintaining a strong commitment to research, surgical innovation, and high-quality patient care.
